In this article, we check out Kabbalah(s), their “Zohar.” and modern Cabals. Please note the word Kabbalah has various spellings, as does the word Cabal. Let’s begin:
PREFACE
Cover 1: Youtube video from the Religion Movies TV Channel, of 9 February 2024; entitled, “Jewish Mysticism - Kabbalah Secrets.” This brief video explores how Kabbalah was transferred secretly from Egypt to Canaan under Jewish esoteric efforts during the Exodus (c1250 BC). Adherents were faithful to Egyptian magic.
This article explores the Kabbalah(s) and examines related historic events, such as the formation of related Cabals in more current history:
THESIS
The Banking Cabals, which date to around 1800, and now as seen in the BIS, and the Federal Reserve System for example, have had a clearly outsized impact on history, on nations, on international economies and international relations. This in turn, has affected every aspect of civilization - including the spiritual. Some scholars suggest these modern Cabals are to some degree at least, a continuation of the original Jewish Magical Cabbalah (perpetuated through various banking & investment families). And if this is true, the Magical Caballah (or Kabbalah) is possibly a serious threat to democracy and freedom because such organizations generally seek power and control - and in this case, it would be a global control. Therefore, an understanding of such a Kabbalah can be instrumental in finding ways to fight against their influence. Hence this current article.
DISCUSSION
Some studies indicate that select Jewish leaders in ancient times held a fascination with Egyptian Magic practice, and they incorporated much of it into their own writings. They included studies of spells - black magic - along with or expounding upon stories about the Torah or Talmud. They held to the theory of the Continuity of Matter; they relied on non-Jewish, pagan sources - including Egyptian and Babylonian - for new knowledge. Their Kabbalah - if they actually formed one - became a study on dealing with evil through the use of symbols; they perhaps roughly held that Kabbalah Theory had much in common with Magic Theory.
Some later writers, like Nesta H. Webster, held that these magic-oriented Kabbalists differed from the traditional Kabbalists who kept exclusively to Jewish sources for inspiration - again, while the occult-inclined looked to external sources and became the craftsmen for an “Evil Kabbalah - again, as possibly distinct from the Original, honorable Kabbalah.
Cover 2: The late and notable research author, Nesta H. Webster. Several of her works on secret societies and radical movements were renowned for their extensive coverage; she was largely criticized in the press and an antisemite, but her actual research was exhaustive and illuminating. See her seminal work, “Secret Societies and Subversive Movements.” This book was a warning of things to come. Image Bing; Les editions ethos.
If Webster is correct, what impact did the “Magical or Evil Kabbalah” have? Let’s dig in…
INTRODUCTION
Details on the possible formation of the historic Kabbalah(s):
One might suggest that the very existence of an occult or magical and perhaps evil Kabbalah - a long and probably successful existence - may have inspired additional secret societies to spring up over time; some of these may have become “Cabals.” And Cabal - secretive and influential group - according to the Wikipedia article (which draws on the American Heritage Dictionary), is derived from Kabbalah.
And some authors suggest Kabbalist writings, such as some parts of the Kabbalist’s book of Zohar (radiance), deal with and perhaps to some degree, endorse studies of demons and spirits. Consider the quote below from New World Encyclopedia on the Zohar:
The Zohar (Hebrew: זהר meaning "Splendor" or "Radiance") is a mystical commentary on the Torah (the five books of Moses), written primarily in medieval Aramaic and considered to be the most important work of Kabbalah. It contains an esoteric discussion of the nature of God, the origin and structure of the universe, the nature of souls, sin, redemption, good and evil, and other multifarious metaphysical topics (especially cosmology). …The Zohar is considered to be the greatest work of Je wish mysticism. However, reaction to it among Jews has been mixed. … the Zohar has been condemned for propagating superstitious beliefs, especially centered on a host of spirits and demons.[2] …”
Figure 1: Youtube video from Esoterica Channel, July 22, 2022; entitled, “The Origins of the Klippot / Qliphoth & Sitra Achra in the Zohar - Kabbalah on the Problem of Evil.” Its descriptor reads, “The Kabbalah has one of the most daring solutions for the "problem of evil" - it finds the origin of evil as an essential aspect of Divine Emanation and thus Creation itself. In this episode I explore the origins of the Sitra Achra (the Other Side), the inverse of the Divine Sefirot, and the demonic Klippot / Qliphoth (shells of husks) which are said to inhabit this realm.: Note that much of this information was DERIVED from the ZOHAR and dates perhaps to the 1200s AD.
Figure 2: Youtube video from the Atlanta Fed Channel, May 4, 2011; explores the secret meetings that resulted in the blueprint documents for a US Federal Reserve System. Some argue the subsequent signing of the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 created a nationwide Banking Cabal only nominally under federal control; and this “cabal” would have a globally significant impact. It also helped to finance America’s involvement in World War One. Here’s a brief descriptor from the channel: “205,944 views May 4, 2011…A clandestine meeting on Jekyll Island 100 years ago was a pivotal step in the evolution of the Federal Reserve System. A short video from the conference celebrating the centenary of that historic meeting discusses the history of the Federal Reserve.” ENDQUOTE .. Today’s banking Cabals practice the MAGIC of MONEY!
An Innocent Beginning
From the very beginning of recorded history, there is evidence of the profound effect religious thought had upon civilizations. Even the smallest villages in the Middle East showed evidence of an innocent pagan or animistic religious thought.
Thinking men and women would ask very “deep” or metaphysical questions, like, “Who are the gods? Or later, as monotheism developed, “Who is God? What is God? Why did God create? Why Earth? Why mankind? Why man in the flesh, who failed to obey - as God knew he would? Who is the Serpent? When did he begin? Why did he oppose God? On and on.
Eventually, perhaps during the period of the establishment of the Hebrew kingdoms in and around Canaan (c1200 -1050 BC), the Jewish people - and especially their philosophers - asked these same types of questions. and eventually some of them may have formed or followed a secret scholarly society for such contemplations. Learnreligions.com asserts a type of Kabbalah may have started as early as 2,500 BC - long, long before Abraham was “called by God to seek a promised land.”
Still, we don’t really know the absolute origin of the original, and adding to the confusion, most scholars believe the oldest actual writings of Kabbalists date the Medieval Times (c500 AD - 1500 AD). Consider this article:
“And some scholars specifically believe Jewish Kabbalah’s origin lies mostly with a Spanish mystic who wrote most of its wisdom after 1200 AD: “Moshe de Leon: The Kabbalah is a Jewish mystical tradition that emerged in the 1200s CE. It is attributed to the ancient rabbi Simeon Bar Yochai, but modern scholars largely agree that it was primarily written by Moshe de Leon, a Spanish mystic, and/or a group of similar-minded mystics whose speculations were eventually collected and published by de Leon1. The foundational text of Kabbalah is the Zohar, which was composed in the late 13th century2. Isaac Luria is considered the father of contemporary Kabbalah, and Lurianic Kabbalah was popularised in the form of Hasidic Judaism from the 18th century onwards2.” ENDQUOTE

In any case, certain, ancient and/or Medieval Jewish wise men formed a Kabbalah, a group and method for studying scripture from a Jewish Mystical perspective and committing their learning to written commentaries - and the word Kabbalah itself means for those who “receive” wisdom from or of God, it seems. A receiver, or Kabbalist is known as a “Mekubbal”. And as noted, this could be continued in today’s industrial or banking Cabals. Britannica notes
“Cabal, a private organization or party engaged in secret intrigues; also, the intrigues themselves. In England the word was used during the 17th century to describe any secret or extralegal council of the king, especially the foreign committee of the Privy Council.” - Britannica Encyclopedia article, Cabal
So, in summation, Kabbalah was a movement, albeit very quiet; it was a discipline, a way of life; it was also a school with teachers, writers, practitioners and pupils. And as far as is known, this original Kabbalah was one with a sobering look at only the existent Torah and Talmud - and they studied the deeper meaning of scripture though commentaries in their own books, like the Zohar (radiance).
Figure 3: The Kabbalistic Tree of Life; Image source: Truthperfected.com. What does it mean? According to beingawakened.com, it is, “… a symbolic representation of the ten divine emanations or attributes1. These emanations, known as the Sefirot, connect the divine and human realms, serving as channels through which divine energy flows1. The Tree of Life is also used as a map of the human soul, showing the path to spiritual enlightenment2.
Figure 4: Youtube video from Revelation Media; 2018; The Animated Bible Series | Season 1 | Episode 1 | The Creation | Michael Arias | Steve Cleary; this is a faithful rendering of the account of man’s creation and fall as given in the Book of Genesis. But does it explain the questions that arise? Questions a Kabbalist might contemplate?

CONCLUSION FOR PART 2The concern expressed in this article casts doubts, but no certainties, regarding both the Ancient Kabballah(s) and more modern derivatives such as Banking Cabals. Are they just groups of curious and proper citizens attempting to learn various truths about man, God, nature, our world, etc.? Or do they, or at least some of them, especially in the modern Cabals, pose a quiet but sinister threat to our civilization? They have an All Seeing Eye? The Eye of Horus?
We need to open our eyes, too. Watch and pray.
